OVERVIEW
Adora Tavern is a conceptual brand identity for a high-end Mediterranean restaurant developed as a group project for an advanced typography course. After collaboratively establishing the core concept, each team member took their own creative direction for the menu designs. The brand aimed to reflect coastal elegance, Turkish influences, and a modern, welcoming dining experience with my own special focus on visual flow, inclusivity, and tactile interaction.

PROCESS
I designed the hand-lettered logo to reflect both refinement and cultural warmth, drawing inspiration from Mediterranean typography. The brand’s color palette—cool ocean blues and muted sands—was chosen to evoke the Turkish seaside and coastal dining ambience. For my individual menu design, I curated a selection of elevated, traditional Mediterranean dishes—ensuring they felt both authentic and coastal in spirit. I designed the menu with a flowy, layered die-cut layout, allowing each menu category to overlap smoothly while keeping section titles visible for easy navigation. I also integrated allergy-inclusive indicators throughout the menu, adding a personal touch rooted in inclusive design promoting accessibility and thoughtfulness in the dining experience.
CHALLENGES
Designing a flowing, multi-layered menu that balanced aesthetic beauty with functional readability was a core challenge. It required strategic typographic hierarchy and careful trimming to ensure diners could navigate the content effortlessly and comfortably. Including allergen indicators without disrupting the visual elegance also required intentional restraint and clarity.
OUTCOME
My take on Adora Tavern is a sophisticated and inclusive experience that reflects strong attention to both form and function. From custom typography to curated dish selections, the final menu design is immersive, accessible, and rooted in storytelling—bringing the essence of Mediterranean coastal dining to life through thoughtful design.
